About Me
Hi, I'm Bill
Licensed therapist. 20+ years of experience. Former first responder. Professional listener who actually talks back.

The Short Version
I got into this work because when I needed help, it wasn't there. So I became the therapist I wished I'd had—someone who's direct, actually present, and won't waste your time with vague platitudes about "sitting with your feelings."
Over 20 years, I've helped hundreds of people work through anxiety, depression, trauma, and those "what am I even doing with my life?" moments. I specialize in working with young adults trying to figure things out and first responders dealing with the unique joy of seeing humanity at its worst.
What makes me different? I blend evidence-based therapy with Stoic philosophy. Sounds fancy, but it's really just this: we can't control what happens to us, but we can learn to choose how we respond. It's not about suppressing emotions—it's about not letting them drive the bus.
"It is not events that trouble us, but our reactions to them." — Epictetus (he was onto something)
How I Work
I'm direct. I'll tell you what I actually think—no sugarcoating, no therapist-speak. But I'm also genuinely in your corner. Think of it as tough love from someone who's been through some stuff himself.
My toolkit includes:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — Finding and fixing the thought patterns that are messing with you
- EMDR — Processing trauma without reliving every detail (it's weird but it works)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy — Building on what's already working instead of just analyzing problems
- Stoic Philosophy — 2,000-year-old wisdom that's surprisingly relevant when your boss is a nightmare
- Mindfulness — Learning to be present without the incense and chanting (unless you're into that)
20+ Years Experience
Been at this since the Clinton administration. I've seen a lot.
Evidence-Based
Methods that actually work, backed by research. No woo-woo stuff.
Genuine Care
I actually give a damn. Revolutionary, I know.
